I have used Norton Antivirus and/or Internet Security since the mid-1990s. Having just installed NIS 2009, I find that Norton STILL has not done anything to address one of the most aggravating problems when upgrading to a newer version. Since the previous Norton Antivirus and/or Internet Security must be removed before installing the newer version, there is NO WAY to preserve all option and configuration settings (including the Allowed and Blocked lists).
Since each new version makes many changes --sometimes apparently only for the sake of making a change-- I realize that it may complex to map changes from old to new.
It is really frustrating to have spent the past several days setting and resetting options, and manually rebuilding the Allowed and Blocked lists.
Suggestion:
At the very minimum there should be a 'Print Utility' that would simply print a copy of ALL settings/options/configurations/lists that have been successfully used with the previous version. This would certainly be helpful in trying to get the new version to function as desired.
