Option to set a particular FONT for Text Editor as default

Hi Tony/ Allen,

It will be better if we can have option to set a particular FONT (font type, font size, font color) for text editor in our profile, so that it can be used as default for all the posts. For eg: I would like to use Trebuchet MS as my font type, 2(10 pt) as my font size and blue as my font color for all my posts. Can this be set as default under my profile instead of typing the text and then formatting it?

My apologies if this has already been noticed/posted.

I don’t think it has been posted before. I would like that as well. Good suggestion

Hi Yogesh,

Agreed.   Great suggestion.   I'll write that up and send it on to the forum software vendor.

You may remember I've asked for this before and that is an icon/tool on the toolbar to Remove all Formatting from highlighted text copied into the reply editor from a message or outside source.

You correctly say that it can be achieved by switching to Edit as HTML and deleting but that does require a knowledge of HTML coding and can easily go astray by taking out say some link coding unintentionally (especially with the way the editor likes to grab the next character all on its own say-so !).

It can be done since it is on the version of this open source editor that Compuserve use .....

Break a link is also useful although you can do it with the Insert/Edit Link icon + DEL but that involves several steps whereas Break a link just involves hightlighting the link words.

Oh yes while we are on it -- any chance of making links in macros being more automatic like in the editor?

I didn't see the earlier discussion you mentioned, about removing formatting from copied/pasted text, but my workaround (to get rid of unwanted formatting) is to paste into Notepad first, then re-select the text in Notepad and copy that and paste it into the Norton forum editor. (At least on XP Pro, Notepad doesn't retain any formatting info; I don't know about Vista though.)

But as you said, it would be better to have a toolbar button to do that.

Yes that is a good way for major chunks when you want all the formatting removed from all the text but sometimes I just want to remove something from a small section -- perhaps color and font and font size and have it revert to the default.

On Compuserve where I do support too the same editor (I understand) does have that icon/tool.
