The reason I posted this topic in this forum is because I know you guys are good at computers.
The queston is, what does Vista Indexing do and should I disable it? Will I notice a visable speed performance or not really? Will it help my boot time ext? Will disabling this safe battery life on laptops, and if so how much?

Indexes contents and properties of files on local and remote computers; provides rapid access to files through flexible querying language.
Additional Information:
Not installed by default, but if needed, you may install it later off the Windows Vista CD/DVD under Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > Check "Indexing Service".
This service is provided only for backward compatibility and its functions are not needed as the Windows Search service performes the same dut
