Outage Dashboard Page Wanted

Mostly when there are connectivity issues with Norton services (ID Safe, account management, product installation & registration), the problem is at the user end or in the ISP network.  Once in a while (seldom, but it does happen) the problem is with the Norton servers (sometimes it's just a product/user specific bug, sometimes it's just a server problem). On those occasions - when there is a known problem with the Norton/Symantec service, it would be huge timesaver to have an official dashboard page that users could check.

See the uninstalled-now-website-page-down thread from 6/15 and the accompanying outage-announcement for a recent occurrence.

The crowd sourced isitdownrightnow.com - norton site page does a fair job of monitoring status, but an official Norton dashboard page would be better.

You could reference the issue and the dashboard page in the chat waiting queue update messages.  That would be enough for some users who would drop out and expedite service for others.

Any place in Norton products where there's a 'retry later' alert, you could reference the external dashboard page.  After a quick check by the user, the user would then know to debug the problem from his/her end.

An outage announcement is very useful, but it needs to be in a publicly advertised location.  Next time maybe I'll remember to look for the keyword 'outage'.  If Norton posts a service down announcement (comment) on a discussion thread, you need to post the service up comment also.

Maybe there's already a place/way to look and someone will inform me..
