Outlook 2003 e-mail is not sent after upgrade to NIS 2011

Following upgrade from NIS 2009 (which worked very well), e-mail messages from Outlook 2003 are sent to the Outbox with no "sent" date, and end up in a group labeled "Date: None".  When NIS is uninstalled, messaged are sent to the Outbox with the current day's "sent" date, and are in a group labeled "Date: Today".  None of the messages in the "Date: None" group ever make it out of the Outbox following a Send/Receive command.

I spent 6 hours on line with support tweaking all sorts of settings to no avail.  If the Outlook option "Send immediately when connected" box is checked, the messages go out OK (but immediately), so there is no second chance to make a change once you finish and send your message.  I prefer to let them sit in the Outbox until I do a batch send/receive.

After 6 hours of support work, support suddenly decided that Outlook 2003 "is not supported by NIS 2011", and "you'll have to upgrade to the current version of Office if you want to use NIS 2011".  Went back to NIS 2009 for the time being, everything is rosy.   Any one know of a fix for this issue?
