Outlook 2007 Antispam folder missing

Edit- So from what I can see there is no longer an NIS Antispam folder and instead it uses the Outlook junk folder? I only ask because it was there when I upgraded from '09 but is now missing from my clean install of windows and NIS 2010.

I edited the post to make more sense as it does seem to just use the junk mail folder. I wonder why the change? It was better before if this is true.

Thanks

Hi Zahl

The behavior here is :

1) If Norton AntiSpam folder is present in the Email Client - NIS will use it for collecting Spam Emails

2) If Norton AntiSpam folder is not present in the Email Client:

   a. If Junk Folder is present in the Email Client : NIS uses it for Spam Collection

   b. If Junk Folder is not present in the Email Client - NIS creates Norton AntiSpam folder and uses it for Spam Collection

It is designed so because there is not point in having both (Junk & Norton AntiSpam) Folders for the same purpose

To your other questions:

On Upgrade to NIS2010: It uses the Antispam Folder created during its last NIS 09 install (Behavior 1 mentioned above)

Whereas on a clean install : There is no past instance of NAS folder created, So NIS uses Junk Folder itself for Spam Collection (Behavior 2a)

Let us know if this info helps you

Thanks

Thanks much guys. I see your point that its more efficient this way and after some more time with it I see how it works. Sorry I didn't pick up on this on my own. Its also nice to see you can make it like it was to:)

Many thanks for taking the time to clear things up for me though, much appreciated

Hello, first time posting to Norton Commuitry.

Regards to the new feature that Norton Antispam folder will not be created when doing a clean install into Outlook 2007, what if I wanted to have both Junk folder and Norton Antispam folder anyways?

Is there any way?

If I could choose to have it or not to have it when first launching the Outlook, that would be better.

Or the only way is to install 2009 and then 2010?

No need to install NIS2009 first.  You just need to make a folder labeled “Norton Antispam Folder” in your email Inbox folder tree.  Then install NIS2010 and when the Antispam is activated (first time you open the email client that it is integrated with) it will use that folder.

Thank you dbrisendine.

That makes more sense.
