Outlook Account Temporary Suspended

MS is claiming that a lot of junk mail has been coming from my outlook account.  I have requested, numerous times, a security code be sent to another email provider account - but the code does not work.

Hi, Miss Wanda. I hope Hugh's suggestions help. My advice meant was to change your password anyway, after the code issues with MS have been sorted out.

Duplicate.

When you say

Without my outlook account, I am unable to contact MS for support.

have you tried the second step given in the MS article on dealing with lockouts?

  1. To help protect your account from fraud or abuse, Microsoft temporarily blocks accounts when unusual activity is noticed. To unblock your account, sign in to the Microsoft account website and follow the instructions to get a security code.

  2. If the security code won’t work to unblock your account online, you can still get unblocked. Fill out this online form, and a Microsoft customer service representative will contact you by email within 24 hours.

I realize that " will contact you by email within 24 hours " sounds pretty stupid if you can't collect your email but can't you access your email other than through MS Outlook itself? Like I can collect my email using my normal Windows Live Mail but I can also read it on line using a browser?

Or set up a Gmail account and give that as your contact email address ?

It's not completely clear.

Also I came across this link to CHAT with Microsoft   which judged by CHAT here on Norton may be much more helpful -- CHAT uses the computer keyboard not your phone.

Don't get frustrated with us here -- we are only trying to help you with something that Microsoft has to resolve -- not Norton; but we do try since as users we do have similar problems and frustrations.

At the moment I'm fighting Walmart trying to get into my pharmacy account where the codes they send take hours to arrive and then don't work, just like you.

Makes me wonder if there is a system fault somewhere!

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit and Norton Security Premium/with BackUp ....

You don't understand:  I am temp. locked out of my account. The the security codes MS. sends me via my other e-mail provider do not work.  Hence, I am unable to access my account.....thus, cannot "change my password," as you suggest. Without my outlook account, I am unable to contact MS for support.  It's a catch 22 situation. Thanks anyhow.

I would suggest changing your password, if you haven't already.
