Hello everyone. New to the Norton community forums but been using Symantec products for years now (NIS, N360 Premiere, and now NSwB).
Ever since upgrading to Norton Security with Backup I have been dealing with quite an annoying little problem: I use Media Browser Sever to display owned video content on a plethora of devices throughout my home but mainly in my screening room thanks to a Wireless HDMI Transceiver. Anyways, Media Browser Server routinely connects to the internet to check for updates, download associated metadata if not present (or keep it up to date if it is), etc. but while Norton 360 Premiere had no issue with this activity, Norton Security Backup keeps throwing up issues about it.
The executable is set to "Allow" and every time the suspicious network activity prompt has come up (and it's always the same two prompts: for a UDP port it is assigned to use or for metadata collection) I click "Allow Always" but Norton Security keeps blocking it.
I've even changed a setting in the Firewall from "Warn on Suspicious Network Activity" to "Allow Always" (which turns out to be the default - I guess it wasn't in N360 Premiere where all my settings seemed to have been imported from) but it keeps doing it.
I am at a loss of what to do about it. Is there a way to exclude this particular program from that type of detection? I use the development build but Norton 360 Premiere never had any problems with that.
It's good that the firewall is proactive but when I tell it to allow something "always" it should do just that.
