Page blocked, not listed in safeweb

Hi guys,

I have received a few emails from customers saying they are getting "Suspicious web page blocked" from their symantec software, every now and then. They say it doesn't happen every time, just sometimes.

I don't use norton myself, but I did a quick google and found some links to safeweb.norton.com to check the rating of my page. So I went there and checked billijgiftware.com.au manually and there is no rating for it.

So I'm at a bit of a loss. I certainly don't want my customers who use norton to get this message, but I have just a stock standard SSL certificate from godaddy and the PHP opencart software I installed, there is nothing crazy going on here. Any tips for how to track down what norton thinks is wrong would be greatly appreciated.

OT: but just a heads up, when registering for this site, google mail (gmail) thought the email verifications were spam... from past experience, if google thinks you are spam, you are doing something wrong

I am wondering if this is related to a topic I started that has yet to gather any replies. Does this happen when they open a group of tabs in Internet Explorer?

As SendOfJive, I am able to access your site with no blocking.

I also have not idea why the site would be blocked intermittently.

Hello tigris

If your site has not been ratted by Norton Safe Web Team, you can go thru the process of getting the site ownership verified and then rated. I would recommend that you go thru the process and get it rated. Since it is a Go Daddy website, it is possible that some sites from Go Daddy are infected, therefore your site might be getting the same infection blockage as the infected site. To get your own rating of your site, please follow the directions at this site.

Please follow instructions on this site for Safe Web Site problems.

http://safeweb.norton.com/help/site_owners

So please follow the steps necessary to get your site ownership verified first and then follow the direcctions to get it rated. It may be necessary to get your site rated manually after you get ownership verified. Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.

Thanks guys. I'll ask the customers to a) make sure their norton is up to date and b) try "resetting" their safe web data. Does that sound about right?

I'll attempt the site ownership thing, but I'd rather not have to jump through hoops to verify a site with every company. I've made heaps of sites before and never had to do this before. I've certainly had to jump through hoops with google to get site verification / web master tools and analytics and everything to work with them, it gets quite annoying really.

Hello tigris

If you have any problems with following the Safe Web instructions, I can get someone to help you out with it. Malware today is more rampant today than it was before also. Many people do use Norton products and do look for the Norton symbols before they will go to a site. Give it a try and let us know if you have any problems and how the procedure went. Thanks.
