Thanks Tony. I'll let you know if all is good. BTW, I was able to post and everything. It was slowing every thing down. It was even happening with PM's. I knew it had something to do with ads. Thanks though.
Update: should be resolved now. Turns out it was a result of the blog advertisements; some issue with the links and how tracking codes were screwing things up. This should all be resolved now. Sorry for all the headaches.
Hi folks, I tested out the "ads" theory - no dice. I disabled both of the ads and I still get the "page not found" intermittently.
I don't see it every time (clearly, since I'm able to post), but I don't see it on boards, or categories, or the main page. Only on threads. Our dev team has been alerted, and we'll keep you posted. Thanks for letting us know.
Wow Dave, you think I'm actually correct about this? I don't know if it has anything to do with a popup that looked almost the same and I clicked on it not to show any more. I don't see the popup any more, so I hope that isn't making the page close up. It even happens after I save a post sometimes.
I think this is something that Tony needs to get fixed pronto. Hope he will do it for just the 2 of us, but not too many are left that are still on Win 7 IE 11.
Could you please get this issue fixed for DaveH and me?. Please see the thread that I started with the same name. Dave didn't notice my thread. Mine is Page Not Found? I think I came up with the cause of it and DaveH seems to agree with me. I didn't think I was good enough to figure out the cause by myself. Please check out our threads. Thanks. flo
I read your topic here Flo and I think your right, it seems to have something to do with one of these ads.
When I slow down the page load by using most of my bandwidth on another task I can see the correct page actually load and the address bar showing the right address until these ads load, then the address in the address bar changes to https://community.norton.com/&/g
I been getting the same thing and I started a thread in here and there is also one in Tech Outpost started by that user who I refer to numbers because his username is a string of digits..
It's been happening a lot more often to me. My thread is the same name but each word is capitalized. I think there is a issue trying to copy a link from another thread with the same name. The link I copied from being in my thread looks like it is your link with lower case letters for page not found. Regardless, it's the same issue, but it is worse for me, maybe because I am in the Forum more often.
I'm also using Win 7 pro and IE 11. Don't know if it's Windows Update or the Forum that changed something on Friday. I did my Windows Updates late on Thursday afternoon.
