:( Palladium (Worlds Leading Security Solution)
Hello All,
My Dads laptop appears to have some sort of Virus.
When the laptop is turned on it goes through all of the start up motions, but stops doing anything abbrubtly, before fully booting and a box shows up on screen,,,,

In this box there are two tabs
1) Start As Normal (Which is shaded and disabled)
2) Start in Safe Mode (This one is highlighted and working)
I have tried clicking on the Start As Normal tab, no response at all, when I click on the Start in Safe Mode tab, the computer begins proforming some sort of scan, which I do not trust, but when I try stopping this
ie: X-ing out of it nothing happens, alt+F4 again nothing happens, the only way I can stop it is to hold the power button for 5-10 seconds of pull the battery
I have also tried using the laptops built in safe mode on start up but the same thing happens. This Palladium box appears and goes no further.
I have left it running for 2-3 hours in the hope the computer may get a little further that I can access Norton to try and flush this thing out, but no joy there. I remains completely un-accessable. So I can not even download some sort of security tool to solve this Palladium item.

O/S: Windows Vista (SP2)
Anti Virus: Norton Internet Security 2011
Any help with finding a solution to this would be much appreciated.
