After last Sunday's update(3/11/12), my Pandora music app now skips when rendering a web page, and my pages load much slower. I have done a windows restore to that Saturday(3/10/12) and unhooked my internet. I disabled norton and hooked up and started Pandora. There were no issues with the music or rendering pages. After an hour of reading the news(only trusted sites), checking emails, and listening to music, I turned Norton back on to run it's update. Once again, Pandora lags, pages load way too slow.
Windows 7 Home Premium 94bit- SP1
All BIOS, drivers, firmware, etc are up to date and there were no other changes made close to this update.
Thanks for any help you may have!
Thank you for your response!
I am using Norton Antivirus 2010(according to my purchase history- Renewed subscription in August 2011). I have kept up my subscription with no lapses. Version 19.6.1.8 (according to the site, this would be Norton AV 2012?)
The issue seems only to be with audio, not video. I get the same skips/lag while streaming Youtube videos but it only happens with the audio portion of the video, not the graphics. I do have a Facebook account, so I am unable to test it.
The larger the webpage(more pictures, text, graphics), the worse the audio lags for me.
Thank you for your interest in helping me!
Regards,
Darren
Edit to first post: Windows 7 *64 bit
Hi 6tlmpala,
The Norton antivirus does not have a firewall which can block or affect the internet connectivity. So it seems that there might be something else that might be causing a problem here. Have run a speed test to check your speed. Also if possible can you try to load the pages in Firefox or Google Chrome other than your normal browser.
Please let us know if these steps worked
I installed Google Chrome and opened my regular web pages with pandora running. The same lag happened. I have been running other programs as well and don't have any issues.
I ran the Speedtest.net program, which I have used in the past. Very similar results(no more than 2Mbps difference).
14.46Mbps Download
4.06Mbps Upload
25ms PING
Does this point to anything specific? Could the integrated internet/audio on the motherboard be causing it? i have an nVidia 780i SLI.
Thank you!
Darren
