So yesterday I installed this program (norton safety minder). Today when I started the pc I saw that it's not working. If I drag the mouse on it a pop-up says that "Parent action is required" and if I click on it nothing happens (yesterday some options were appearing).
My OS is Win 7 x86
Hi autoplayer,
1. Please make sure you log onto the PC with the Windows account that has been associated with a profile online (meaning the account is being monitored). Please read the link below for details.
http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20090505112039EN
2. Please post a screen shot of the message "Parent action is required" in the forum.
Thanks,
Katie
1) I have only an account so I can't log onto another account than the one I associated with the online profile.
And another question: How can I add to firewall exeptions this cause it can't conect the server? When I try to conect the server the aplication stops and all my icons and apps from desktop dissapear. After that I can only restart the computer. I use F-Secure IS 2011. The problem is that I don't know the executable's name.
autoplayer,
Thanks for the reply. The program is not compatible with F-Secure. Please check out the link below for details.
Thanks,
Katie
So I can use only norton => I installed norton 360 and it doesn't start anymore.
LE. It started 8 mins after I turned on the computer. Why this?
.
autoplayer,
Norton Safety Minder does NOT only work with Norton security products. The list shows the program that NSM is not compatible with.
Is F-Secure still on the PC? If not. Does it always take about 8 mins to start Norton Safety Minder after you turn on the PC?
Thanks,
Katie
Sorry for my mischievous reply. I was only disappointed cause I've won a 6 months license and I can't use it (I won't unistall Norton Safety Minder). So I uninstalled F-Secure (and also cleaned registry) before I installed Norton 360. So I don't have F-Secure on my pc anymore. Anyway I observed that NSM started with te pc but the icon wasn't there (it appeared after 8 mins) -> I saw that when I viewed the time I have left. So since I installed an compatible security product NSM runs very well. Thank you very much and again I am sorry for my reply.
autoplayer,
No problem. I'm glad to hear NSM runs well now
For the Norton 360 issue, have you gotten a chance to find a solution in the Norton 360 forum at http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/bd-p/Norton_360? If you haven't found an answer in the forum, please give me some details on the issue and I will be glad to direct the issue to someone in the support group who can help you.
Thanks,
Katie
