Hello,
Here's what happened
1. I attempted to merge two partitions on a one gig drive into one partition on Windows XP using patrition magic 8
2. Everything looked good until the end, when it gave me an error message and wouldn't allow me to undo the applied changes. Now when I use partition magic to scan for errors, it gives the following message: "error 1520: external attribute header mismatch"
3. Now, the information on the first partition is present, but the 2nd partition which was supposed to go into a new folder (called "olddrive") is innaccessable. the folder is present, but It shows as zero bytes, and cannot be opened (it gives an access denied message)
4. If I view the drive in windows disk manager or partition magic, the disk usage indicator indicates the full use of the drive (as if the information in "olddrive" has been accounted for) even though I can't access it, and windows explorer shows the folder as "empty"
5. How can I get this information back again? This is critical information, as it contains a great deal of client information for my business. Thanks for your help!
