I am trying to resize the C and D drives (make C bigger by taking space from D) on my Sony PCG FXA-33 laptop with Partition Magic 8.0. I checked the drives for disk errors using Windows XP before trying the resize and got no errors. However, during the resizing process, Partition Magic could not resize the C drive. It checked about 15% of that drive and then displayed an Error 2005 message, which said there were one or more lost clusters present so the batch execution had to be aborted.
I did another disk check with XP and got no errors on the C drive so I'm not sure what the problem really is or how to fix it. The D drive was successfully made smaller and the difference in drive space became unallocated space. In a subsequent effort I was able to get that space moved back to the D drive, so it appears the D drive has no errors.
How can I fix the lost cluster issue so Partition Magic will work with my C drive? Thanks for any help. Chris
