Password for Settings

I have Norton 360 and when I go to "Settings" and click on Antivirus, Firewall, or Anti-Spam I am told "Norton 360 requires a password for access. Please enter your password."

I do not remember my password. Suggestions! Thank you.

I just kudoed a post by AHAnas a day or so ago because it provided the exact info to answer your question and I was not aware of the correct answer.

To reset the password:

1. If you have windows xp then go to control panel > add/remove program > select the Norton and click "change/remove" button but do not uninstall the Norton product. In the bottom right hand corner you will find the option to reset the settings password.

2. If you have windows Vista or windows 7 then go to control panel > programs and features > select the Norton and click "uninstall" button but do not uninstall the Norton product. In the bottom right hand corner you will find the option to reset the settings password.

Once you have reset the password to whatever you choose to permit you access to settings.  You can go to Settings > General > Product Security and switch "Settings password protection" to "Off."  Now you will not require password to change the settings.

Please post back with results.

Tried the recommended solution and it worked like a charm!! I am very grateful!!

Kudos are in order.
