Password Manager synchronization not working anymore

Issue abstract: Synchronisation

Detailed description: When I´m updating a password in my passwordmanager on my PC it is not being synchronized to the PM on my Android mobile device. Even I close and reopen the PM it still has the previous password.

Product & version number: Norton Password Manager 8.7.4.3491

OS details:Android 14 One UI 6.1

Curious, does sync occur (on Android) if you call “Sync vault” from PC after you update password on PC?

Are you seeing…Your login has been successfully saved on PC?

as test: with Vault open on PC & on mobile…updated password on PC…then viewed password on mobile…password was updated on mobile

as test: with Vault open on PC & closed on mobile…updated password on PC…then open Vault on mobile…password was not updated on mobile

Caveat: Norton Password Manager is not my daily rider.

Tried “Sync Vault” but unfortunately without success on Android. Password shows still the “old one”. I think I need to remove PM from Android and reinstall. Probably sync is broken, for whatever reason

Then I need to do the same…since, test x 2 [here] produced same results.
Lets hear from Norton Password Manager users.

So seems to be a bug since I cannot open every PM on every device I’m using when I change something. I would suppose the sync with the central vault is happening every time I open the tool on a device

Can you try changing password on PC with Vault open on PC & on mobile…as test.

Okay…for first part of testing [here]. I had Vault open on PC & mobile.

Edit: Oh okay. Now, I read your meaning. You should not need Vault open on all devices…to update/sync a password. Yes, feels like a bug.

Caveat: Norton Password Manager is not my daily rider.

I performed some testings now.
Open PM on PC and Mobile - create secret on PC - doesn´t appear on Mobile. After that I changed something in another secret on my mobile - that change was visible immediately on my PC and after that the newly created secret appeared on my mobile device. Then I closed the PM on my mobile and did some change on the test secret on my PC. After opening PM on my mobile device again, the change wasn´t visible. But changing something on my mobile is visible immediately on my PC.

This is an odd behavior.

Yes, feels odd even for casual Norton Password Manager user (me).
Hopefully, our mobile master @peterweb will chime in.

I’ll test again…maybe, there’s lag time?
No joy…waited 15 min…mobile password did not change.

And invoking “Sync vault” did not help.

Edit: the only way change on PC vault is reflected on mobile vault is with Vault open on PC & mobile…at the same time.

On Android devices you can for a sync with the cloud by pulling down on the main Norton Password Manager screen after logging into your vault.

Hi, this is what I did already a couple of times but even after more than an hour the change made on my PC isn´t visible to my Android device. The other way around - a change made on my Android is immediately visible on my PC´s PM.

What I do to sync is to make a change on the mobile side… I use the notes to make a small change and once I save that instantly all is in sync.

A kluge for sure but it works for me.

Hmm…not helping Sync on my moble. I see spinning circle with pulling down…password changed on PC…not changed on mobile.

Just checked on my Android and saw that the change that has been made yesterday on my PC is still not visible. This looks like a bug.

This is at least a workaround but honestly not the solution - anyway thanks for sharing this idea, works for me, too.

I have flagged this thread to have the forum admin forward this information to the Norton Password Manager team.
