Password Revealer?

I am new so please forgive.

I ran a full scan and it revealed 3 fiels that were threats. All called password revealer. The status on all is "quarantined" but I do not even know what it is. All I can find online is a program called Password Revealer.

Then thing that is most confusing is , when I look in my Quarantined log, it is empty.

Is anyone familiar with Password revealer? The are all wirelesskeyview.exe and .zip files

I am very concerned.

PasswordRevealer is Symantecs name for a certain group of software that can locate and show passwords in a system. This does not mean that the software in itself is malware, just that Norton/Symantec deems them a security risk due to their nature.

The WirelessKeyView software detected is probably Nirsoft's WirelessKeyView that in an easy way can show the password for the wireless network a computer is connected to (which can be done manually anyway without software if you have access to the system). It is a legit program but detected by many security software as a security risk.

Since you do not know what it is there is no need for it to be in your system. Either someone that helped you with the computer used it to find out the password for the wireless or someone else with access to the system used it to get the password so they can use your wireless on their own system or get access to your network. If so, change the password for the wireless and change login/password for all systems connected to the wireless.
