The program worked fine so far, I installed it about a month ago. But a few days ago my son found out how to crack my password. (I didn’t write it down anywhere!) He could get rid of the safety reminder on his own computer. And the program doesn’t work anymore. Is it so easy to crack the password? What can I do?
Hi Simon Martin,
Do you experience this when you are browsing to a particular website or for all websites ?
If it is happening for a specific website , could you please share with us the URL/address of that website
Thanks,
Uma
Hello
It sounds like it is being done for security reasons. Similar things happen with the other browsers.
Have a Nice Day and
Thanks.
I am having a similar problem. I am a long time user of Norton products, but for the past few weeks I have been unimpressed! Using IE11, I have to log into my Norton account numerous times during the day to access my password Vault! I can understand if I had restarted my computer, but that is not the case. If I do not use the vault for an hour or so, I have to log into Norton, and then the vault! This has been happening for the last 2 weeks or so.
Thanks for the explanation. I'll just keep entering my password twice until the issue is resolved. I don't like Microsoft Edge! I have use Internet explorer for many years and will continue to use it, till forced to do otherwise.

Hello genobambino. Are you saying that you now have to log into your Norton account, get a 2FA code, authenticate and then can log into your vault? Tons of us are experiencing this issue with IE11, it occurs when the computer is cold booted at the beginning of the day. Only after a complete shutdown, not a system restart. Myself and other Guru's have put this issue forward to the development team for an answer to whether this is a fresh bug or is now a hard coded feature as the vault is in Edge, Chrome and Firefox. Stay tuned to this thread for more information when we have that to give. Happy new year!!
Cheers
There is no way to regain an existing password. All you can do is reset your password, but this will erase your existing vault and all logins.
You have to hope you have a backup of your ID Safe vault. If you are using the online vault, you should be able to find automatic backups in your Documents folder. Look for a folder there, Norton Identity Safe Backups. In there you will see a folder with your email address. In that folder you will see dated backups. You can use these backups to import into the new vault that will be created if you reset your password.
