(Windows 11, Microsoft Edge, Android)
Until recently a passwordless vault unlock request issued upon starting Microsoft Edge worked fine. That is no longer the case. After either a Norton or, more likely, a Windows 11 update, my phone receives the alert and I accept, but the extension does not open in Edge. After timing out and resending the request it will be accepted normally.
I like to start the browser with the password generator as the first tab and the vault as the second in order to easily change random passwords.
Most of my web access is to urls stored in the vault, but by hitting the plus sign for a new tab, I can open my favorite search engine stored as the url in the Edge setting “Custom New Tab”
I accomplished this by
- opening Norton - My Subscription in the first tab
- opening a second tab from the vault extension pull down to choose "open web app,
- opening the Edge setting “Start, home, and new tab page” and
- Choosing “Open these pages:”
- Cleared the list and set it to “Use all currently open tabs”
- Used the Custom New Tab extension to set the new tab page setting to the url of my search engine…
