My temp solution.
- Disconnect internet cable from computer, if wireless turn off the modem.
- Use system restore or un-install Norton.
- After System restore or Norton re-installation go into Norton settings and turn off automatic-updates.
- Download the latest Definitions from this webpage: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=sep (If you can download this before all the previous steps do so) Download either 32 bit or 64 bit, note that these definitions do not contain the update that effects iexplorer.
- Install the definitions and wait intill Norton has removed the affected pulse update from the pipeline.
- Plug in the internet cable or turn the wireless modem back on.
If you want the lastest updates within the past 24 hours install Firefox or Google Chrome.
