I have dealt with pc keeper in the past , but now have stopped. Had all sorts of problems with general maintenance not working (think was turned off by them to make computer run sick) Has anybody had experience with them or know about them?

Any tool used without knowledge can cause errors -- not that I have experienced any.
Since Geek Uninstaller from what I read about it claims to do exactly what Revo does I've no reason not to continue to recommend Revo Uninstaller -- which is totally free for the version I refer to.
And to forestall any comments I've been using hi-tech "desktop" computers since 1981 followed by doing computer support not long afterwards.
If you have a preference that's fine; we all do.
Revo Uninstaller is good but it can remove way too much leaving a system with errors. It is featured on the site twice. Better off not using it unless you have software you cannot remove. Geek Uninstaller is free and portable

I don't know if you have used it in the past but the best Uninstaller (I'm not talking about active malware) is Revo Uninstaller because it first runs the Windows Uninstaller and is very flexible on how deeply you want to go digging to find bits and pieces of what you want to get rid of but even more important before uninstalling anything.
More important too is that once the Windows Uninstaller is run it will probe and then list all that it finds at each stage of increasing depth and makes you check what you want it to remove before it will do so.
I've given the link to the free download page of Revo itself and not a third party source. But to get the free version which is less featured but not a trial version of the pay for Pro version you must scroll down that page and get the second download button.
Do not download the "Auto Uninstaller" posted in that blog. It is a download link for Revo Uninstaller Pro.
Any sort of maintenance software is merely snake oil (bull crap). None of these programs which are out there you need. No pc needs them. Except for CCleaner. Windows does everything itself. Defrag and other things. NEVER ever install anything like a registry cleaner/ optimizer or a tuneup program. If you want to keep your pc protected then only use well known names:
Norton, Kapersky, Avira, BitDefender, AVG, Avast, Panda, Emsisoft, F-Secure and Eset
