PC System time was changed

I periodical get the alert that the PC system time was changed while my son is logged on to his account. At first I accused him of trying to get around the time restrictions I placed on his account but he does not have administrative privileges so I am at a loss as to how this occurs.  I was thinking that losing our internet connection could cause this but I have not been able to duplicate it by disconnecting my router. We have Norton 360 on an XP machine.

Thanks.

Tom

tomski58,

What version of Norton Safety Minder do you have installed on your son's PC? The latest version is 1.2.0.39 and you can determine this by right clicking on the Norton Safety Minder icon in the System tray and selecting About Norton Safety Minder.

After you received the alert that the PC system time was changed, did his PC system time get changed?

Thanks,

Katie

I have the latest version.

Now that I look a little closer, I see that the time was not changed. Just the notice that it had been changed but the time stamp and the time it was supposedly changed to are the same. I guess I owe my son an apology.

Are you using a product on that system that syncs the time if it is ever off with respect to a network system clock?

Matt

I wonder whether this might occur when the system "wakes up" after "sleeping."  This link seems relevant:

CT Jim,

Thanks for the feedback.  We will check into this.

Thanks,
