Greetings,
I use a MacBook Air to download most files, especially PC files. I have Norton Internet Security 5 for Mac, Ver 5.9 (35). My rational is that while my PC's are also covered by Norton, most viruses are system specific, i.e. a Mac should me "immune" to a PC virus…an extra step and probably unnecessary I know but … anyway…
Yesterday it paid off. Norton detected Trojan.FakeAV!gen123 in a download and promptly reported it to me.
My issue: The files were not quarantined. I think possibly because they were not a threat to the Mac. Neither were they repaired. So every idle time scan, they continue to pop up.
My solution was to move them to Trash and then "Delete immediately"
Just checking to see if that was the correct thing to do.
