I opened a pdf document ( not downloaded) attached to email but then I am asked to click on a link which I did not do will my computer be hacked. Since found out sender was hacked.
Thank you for your reply. I have not noticed anything different and I have completed a full scan which shows no risks. Thank you again. I would not normally click on documents but as this was from a trusted source I did not consider it to be an issue. Will certainly double check in future.
If you aren't noticing any unusual activity such as, the computer slowing down with normal usage, alerts from Norton, pop-ups appearing whether surfing the internet or not, or other unusual issues you should be fine. Malware distribution most times requires the user to click on an embedded link in a message to download malware and begin the infection process. Since you did not do that I would say you are just fine.
Conversely. Run a full system scan with your Norton product to be on the safe side.

Thank you for your reply. I have deleted the message and did not click on the link but I did open, not download the pdf document. Will my computer be ok?
Delete the entire message , DO NOT open any links in it. You already know the sender is compromised.
