Hello All,
I have Noton Internet Securtiy 2012 and have come across a performance alert when a backup is being performed, it states the following:
"High Disk Read, Disk Write usage by: Microsoft Block Level Backup Engine Service EXE"
Is this normal or do I need to take any action to prevent this from happening?
Thanks

The Performance alert is just an advisory message. If you know the program is doing a backup, then it is not unreasonable for it to be using extra resources, and you can disregard the alert.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply....much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
I would say the Performance Alert is normal. I get the same thing on my two systems when I run Windows Backup.
How did you determine your HDD has no problems? Have you ran CHKDSK /R? This will take some time and will run next time you start your system, so you should run it when you know you won't be using it for a while, like overnight.
Cheers,
Dave
Thanks, Dave.
Ran the CHKDSK/R and was able to re backup my PC. Thanks again
You're welcome. Thanks for letting us know.
