Norton Security Suite version 5.1.0.29 includes a Performance dialog. The Performance dialog includes a strip chart of CPU utilization. A stacked bar shows the activity due to Norton in yellow and all other activity in blue. Mouse-over provides a pop-up with the breakdown of the utilization by process. In the following screenshot, Norton (ccsvchst.exe) is shown as utilizing 6% and other (svchost.exe) is shown as 2% in the pop-up. The percentages in the pop-up do not correspond with the activity shown in the chart. At the sampled time point the other / blue category is shown as substantially larger than the Norton / yellow category - the inverse of the ratio reported in the pop-up.
