Performance difference in recover process using Ghost 14.0

Hi there, I wonder if someone here had come across this problem before:

I have around 40 laptops here and I used Ghost 14 to image them from the same source which is about 15G in size. They are all IBM T42/T40s and very similar in hardware (only the wireless adapter could be a little different). Now the strange thing is that, some of the laptops are all good to go with an average of 15-18 minutes to recover, while some others, although have very similar or even identical hardware parameters, could take around 3 hours to recover.
I talked to Symantec support and was told I could run the chkdsk tool first before I start  the image process, but I tried with no luck. It still took an incredibly long time to recover. Then the advise from the support was I probably should upgrade my Ghost into enterprise edition.

So, anybody has any suggestions? I'd be very appreciated if someone can share your opinion with me. Thanks!
