Performance monitoring disabled

I recently installed Norton 360 on my Acer Aspire 5050 laptop.  All of a sudden, I've notice the performance monitoring says it is disabled when I click on the performance tab, even though it is enabled in the settings.  I've tried turning it off and back on in settings but that is not working.  I am running version 6.1.2.10 that I downloaded through the Semantic website.  Any help would be appreciated.
