In previous versions - with Performance Monitoring/Alerting enabled - a user could decide to exclude a program from monitoring/alerting by simply clicking the option to 'ignore' that program ("Don't Alert For This File", or something like that) in the "popup" alert that would appear.
We now have alerting choices of "On", "Log Only", and "Off". The default seems to be Log Only. However, if you set the slider to ON, you'll see the notifications alright, but you cannot choose to ignore that program if you wish.
Now, in order to ignore a specific program alert you must jump through hoops. See this page for instructions. In my opinion this is a ridiculous amount of user action needed to simply accomplish the same action that one click did previously.
"User Friendly" may be an old concept, but it is not an outdated concept. Why move away from it? Why make something like this so difficult when it used to be so easy?
ETA: And why does the product alert for high CPU on NS.exe? Weren't Norton processes automatically excluded in previous versions?
