Persistent & aggravating Norton Mobile Security / Anti-Theft licence renewal notices

I am unable to use the FREE Norton Mobile Security Anti-Theft feature on my tablet and my smart phone for the following reasons:

1) I had two licenses for previous versions of this product for my tablet and my smart phone. I had multiple problems with these licenses, resulting in getting lost in customer service hell and kissing my money goodbye. I let those licenses expire. I have no intention of renewing them.

2) Norton Mobile Security requires users to log into their Norton accounts and register their devices in order to use the Anti-Theft feature.

3) When I do that, Norton sends numerous notices to my tablet and my smart phone to renew the licenses that I let expire, even though this feature is FREE and does not require a license or a subscription.

4) The only way I can use Norton Mobile Security without receiving those notices is not to log in, therefore not to use the Anti-Theft feature.

Once again, I am having a miserable time getting through to Norton customer service on this. Can anybody please help me?

Hi, nellienobody

as you mentioned, you had two licenses for previous versions of this product for tablet and smart phone and had multiple problems with these licenses...

could you please give me more details about the problems you encountered? like incident description, tablet device info, phone device info...

Smithy:

The few times I have attempted to contact Norton Support Live Chat, it has taken forever to connect -AND/OR- their "help" has been useless, owing mostly to their inability to "think outside the script".

My previous visit to Support Hell resulted in those morons not removing my licenses from my account as I asked them to do, but doing me the huge "favor" of extending them "for free" without consulting with me. When I objected, I got no response from them.

Meanwhile, what guarantee do I have that any new accounts won't develop the same problems that my current account has? Norton has significant licensing problems that they don't seem able to resolve. Heck, I'm even having a problem receiving renewal notices for NAV on my laptop, despite having replaced it with the Comcast version.

Why create good products then foist such lousy service on your customers? Do you think you own us once you've snared us? I don't think so!

My problems with my previous licenses went on for months and months and months. There is no way I can distill them here. Suffice it to say that I gave up and kissed my money good bye, just to end the stress. All I want now is to use the ***FREE*** anti-theft feature without receiving the bloody renewal notices.

As I mentioned previously, I don't know how a company can lure in customers with good products and then turn around and slap them in the face with such lousy customer service.
