Persistent Unsecured wi-fi connection

Recently went overseas. Swapped a pre-paid sim into my Android cell phone and briefly used an unsecured Wi-Fi site at one stage of the trip. Swapped back to the original sim on returning home. Norton mobile security keeps reporting I still have a connection to the OS website?? I tried Norton Wi-fi Privacy but it just blocks it. I also put the pre-paid sim back in to phone to no avail. I need to remove the connection. Ideas?

Good to hear everyone is happy again.

Glad I could help.

Thank you Peterweb for addressing the issue promptly. I realised after posting I had jumped the wrong conclusion, however  I now know how to resolve it.

Thanks so much! Your solution resolved my issue with NMS displaying an unsecured network status after installing a mobile carrier's software update. I created this account just so I could "THANK YOU".

Kudos to Peterweb as this solved this problem. I'll post a separate enquiry about NMS Protection not recognizing Dolphin browser. Thanks again.

EDIT    Did you restart your device after removing the connections from Android Settings?

Try going into the Norton Mobile Security, NMS app settings. Tap on the 3 bars at the top left of the NMS screen and tap on Settings. Scroll down to the Anti Theft section and turn off the Device Administrator setting.  Now go to Android Settings - Apps. Scroll to the NMS app and clear the app cache and app Data. Restart the device and turn the Device Administrator setting back on. This will reset your NMS to a trial version. To get the full version back, open the NMS app, tap on the 3 bars at the top left, then tap Sign In. Enter your Norton Account information and you should have the full version again.

Then test to see if things work properly.

I also have a problem with Norton Mobile Security: Wi-Fi Security shows three unsecured network connections, which are no longer shown in Network Connections under Settings, but MMS continues to list them, and promote Norton WiFi Privacy {which comes at an optional cost}. HOW DO I REMOVE THIS OLD DATA?

It is not that you are connected to the unsecure network connection, but that you had at one point connected to that network. Devices save settings for networks you have connected to so you can connect again without entering all the security passwords.

Go into Android Settings and tap on Wifi. Look for the network connection you are seeing in the messages and tap on that. Then you should have the option to forget the network. That should stop your messages.
