There are two reasons you backup your system 1) to have a recovery incase of a hardware failure, 2) to be able to recover data that is deleted or changed by accident.
To do this since Both Ghost and PGP are Symantec products I have not found a solution that accomplished both of these.
The solution should be able to run on all systems from XP to Windows 7. The ideal way is a standalone boot system that can backup the entire hard disk to allow a full recovery. Then from within the back you can recover individual files.
You can do this with Ghost but not If PGP WDE is installed?
I have seen posts for running Ghost 12 under windows to create an unencrypted backup. Does this work with the latest Ghost? If no then what are the future directions for these two products.
