I may be being paranoid, but I've just noticed that Norton claims to have carried out a Full System scan without any input from myself.
I had downloaded some freeware uninstallers to try, (all received the green tick in the bottom right hand corner of the screen)
then I saw that the Norton circle in the hidden icons box had greyed out, so I closed the pc down and rebooted, whereupon it had gone green again. I checked the history and saw that an idle time scan had been carried out, then a full system scan immediately after which purported to have taken an hour and forty minutes to detect one cookie...the machine had only been on for about twenty minutes tops. I did a quick scan and found twenty two cookies (about par for the course), and a Malwarebytes scan which was clear.
Is this a glitch, a facility that I am unaware of, or should I suspect something untoward?
I would be very grateful for your comments.
