Phantom "inoperable hardware device"

I've just upgraded to Norton Security Suite 5.1.0.29, and run the Diagnostic Report, which says:

Problem:  Norton Security Suite has detected inoperable hardware devices.

Recommendation:  You may want to configure these hardware devices. Run Device Manager to properly configure hardware devices.

This section lists any hardware devices that are not working.

Data TypeDevice Problem and Description
Device TypeTVICHW32
Device StatusDevice is disabled. (Code 22)
Plug and Play IDROOT\LEGACY_TVICHW32\0000

However, Device Manager lists no such device, nor anything else "disabled".  There is a file called TVICHW32.sys in my Windows/System32/Drivers directory.  Can anyone tell me what is being reported?

TVicHW32 is a general purpose device driver that can be used by practically any programming language. It lets you access and control hardware directly from any Win32 application under Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/2003/XP/XP 64-bit without having to use the Windows DDK.

This is what I found. Someone else is going to have to explain what it means to both of us

Norton Secutiy Suite is the COMCAST version and is dealt with here in Other Norton Products so I'll ask for your message to be moved over there or better exposure. You won't lose sight of it because a link will be left here.

COMCAST do also have their own Forum structure so you might post there as well. I'm afraid I don't know how you get there but there may be a link on your copy of the Security Suite?

I think it's a TV or monitor driver.  I want to say something for a Viewsonic?

You may be able to see it in the device manager if you go to View and select "show hidden devices"

But I wouldn't recomend trying to remove it. Norton is just correctly reporting it is not working, It's telling you that you need it or not.
