Thanks, that's cool, as long as you don't have 2FA on the acct with your "lost" phone as the only 2nd factor then then your all set. Otherwise that's a whole nuther story and thread.

Which is answered here.   https://community.norton.com/en/forums/putting-2fa-norton-acct#comment-8130961

Well, you can lock the phone from any device with a browser. Your PC, someone else's PC, or any mobile device can be used to access your Norton Account to manage a lost phone.

Thank you sir, that does make it more attractive.

And I could only lock the phone from my PC so I would not have to worry about accidentally locking it from the phone itself, correct ?

The lock using Norton's Anti Theft features is immediate. You can lock the device immediately, and if you happen to find it, you can unlock it immediately as well. You can also initiate a Wipe of your personal data, if you feel the need to do that.

But note that the device has to be online for these features to work. So the next time the device would be started and connected, whether by wifi or cell, the commands would be run.

Just now installing Norton on our phones and read this. Makes me wonder if I even need to fool with all this since I can just call our phone service and they will deactivate the phone, but it will take up to 24 hrs. Does Norton Anti-Theft lock the phone as soon as you contatct them?

Had you signed into your Norton Account from the phone(s)?
If you have NMS installed on the old phone, make sure you have signed into your Norton Account so you do not run into the same problem with that phone. Then check that it is registered at the Mobile Security web site at   https://mobilesecurity.norton.com

Hi!

No ...I purchase the Norton appl already and as a part of the appl you can add to other devices as well. Thank you for your assistance!

I'll see if I can get some help for you. But as the Support agent said, if you did not register the device, there is no record of your Passcode for you to retrieve.

Were you using a trial version of Norton Mobile Security?

My phone is now locked after taking out the Sim card. I never got a Pin number neither I register any of my devices in the "security Norton Page". I chatted with Norton Agent and said " if it is the device is not register we can not do anything" WHAT? it is a brand new phone and now I can not used...I have to go back to my old phone....this is incredible...now what should I do? I am ready to take a hammer and smashed! I spend the whole day in fixing this phone situation! and got no answers! back to my old phone!
