After recently registering w/ Norton Community, I received a phone call this afternoon from 631-954-4978. The representative from the scammer company told me he noticed I submitted help for an error to Norton Internet Security. As far as I know, legitimate communications are usually transmitted via a secure online connection (not a telephone call). I knew the guy was total bull shite when he specifically named the error in question. He used one of the more common sys.wow or something else I’ve never had. He showed his hand there, so to speak, even though his English was better than most scammers I’ve heard. How long have these scammers been targeting support forums? They must have great luck hunting here, but it seems like they would get more negative responses from NC users, calling them on their shite.
