PIN not working

Have Nortons on my phone. Sent a link to new Samsung Tab A. Downloaded but it won't secure Internet usage. Won't accept my PIN. Already been to Nortons Security via Web and see the alleged PIN in the upper right part of screen and it is the one for the Tab A. What do I do?

Good news. You should still be able to set up a screen lock PIN separate from the Secure Startup feature if wish.

One other NMS setting to check is under the Anti Theft section of NMS Settings. Check that the Device Administrator setting is turned on.

You led me in the right direction. I disabled the secure startup PIN on my tablet and then could secure Web usage on Nortons. Strangely, I tried the startup PIN several times and it never accepted it, I had to search and disable it. Thanks so much.

I did a little searching and found a little info on the Secure Startup feature. Do you remember setting this up in the security settings for the device?  Apparently it requires a PIN to decrypt your device at startup. Here is some info for a Galaxy Note 7, but it may show you how you get to the settings for that feature.

If you do not need that feature, you can disable it and then Norton would allow you to finish the set up of the web protection.

Under the globe, Web Protection "Norton Security Services off"

Let's see what is not active. Tap on the Globe icon in the NMS app and let me know what is not activated.

Thanks for the help BTW. Android version 6.0.1. Screen lock PIN not working. OK, so then the question must be, why is Nortons not giving me Web protection?

It sounds like it is looking for a PIN from your Tab A's Android security. The passcode from the NMS web site is only used to unlock the device after locking by Norton. If you have a screen lock PIN set up, try that.

Secure Startup is not part of the NMS app. It must be part of the Android system. What is the version on Android on the Tab?

Downloaded Norton to a Tab A from a renewed subscription from my phone. When I open the app it tells me I am 50% Web protected, so I click that. Next, it has a link "Turn on Nortons Security Services", I click that. It then takes me to Settings, under Services it has Norton Sec Serv which is set to OFF. I click that. Then it states that Nort Sec Serv won't run with Secure startup, so I click the only option which is OK. Next, it says to turn on Nort Sec Serv enter PIN, which I do, it says "try again".

The PIN or passcode is the code you use to unlock the device when you use the Anti Theft features of Norton, Mobile Security, NMS.

Can you clarify what you are seeing when you say it won't secure internet usage?

Have you signed into your Norton Account on the second device?
