Could Norton be blocking my Pinterest Site. It just started happening.

I faced the same problem. I was unable to send msgs, post videos on whatsapp, instagram and facebook. Now the issue got resolved.

Not for nothing, but, social media is sooo annoying.... (deep sigh)  In general, i just feel between compromised privacy (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/18/technology/facebook-privacy.html#click=https://t.co/8YEEEirdUy) and people sharing wayyy too much - - it is just best avoided.

Regards,

H.B.

Sorry, for some reason I thought Facebook owned Pinterest.  It turns out it is Google.  I shall crawl back under my rock again now.

Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are back up and running (updated)

Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are experiencing outages this morning. Downdetector maps show the services are struggling around the globe, but the issues seem to be the worst on the East Coast and in Europe. According to The Independent, some WhatsApp users are unable to send photos, videos and voice messages, though text is still going through, and #instagram down is trending on Twitter.

At this point, it's unclear what might be causing the issue. In March, Facebook experienced a massive outage, supposedly due to a server configuration change. A month later, Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp experienced another outage. This marks the third major outage this year.

Engadget has reached out to Facebook for comment.

Update (12:10PM ET): Facebook reportedly acknowledged the outage. According to Reuters, the company said it's working to resolve issues faced by some users on Instagram and WhatsApp.

Update (9 PM ET): Service appears to have been restored, with Facebook and Instagram both tweeting that the problems are resolved.

It is unlikely to be Norton, but if it was blocking anything you would see some form of notification.

An issue causing some Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users around the world to be unable to load, upload or send images, videos and other files on the social media platforms has been resolved, Facebook has said in an update on Twitter.

"We should be back at 100 per cent for everyone," the social media network said.

However, some users reported hashtags were still not working on Instagram.

"During one of our routine maintenance operations, we triggered an issue that is making it difficult for some people to upload or send photos and videos," Facebook earlier said.
