Please clarify what is shown in "view transcript"

When reviewing Instant Messages...

There may be 4 or 5 buddies my child speaks to.  One buddy may have repeated entries in the log.  When I select "view transcript", it shows me the content.  If I move to a previous entry time for the same buddy, when I select "view transcript" again at what seems to be a different contact time, it shows the same conversation again.

Does this mean that it seem each buddy appears to be one very long transcript, but that each time contact is made a new conversation gets tacked on to the same transcript?   Meaning that all the conversations are actually viewable, but only in one long transcript?

or,

does Norton only save the most recent transcript and that ONE same conversation is repeatedly shown for every entry?

I'm basically asking if view 7 days would be one length, view 14 days would appear the same in the beginning but include more conversations, and that view all would include everything stored by Norton at the time.

Thanks - much!

Maybe I'm getting better... After wandering in and out of "all" it seems like Norton stores one huge transcript for each buddy per day.  Is that correct?

Any/all help understanding this is appreciated in a big way!

Hi moddo,

The program captures all the conversations with each buddy and displays them accordingly.  Since It’s not easy to know what time a conversation starts or finishes, we display all the conversations that took place with each buddy from the beginning the day to the entry time.

Thanks,

Katie
