Hi,
Emails are being sent to my friends from my computer that I am not sending. Friends say this is due to a virus in my computer. Yet the Norton Anti Virus Scan concludes that everything is okay--that my computer is secure? Can anyone help me? Is it a virus causing this and if so how can I remove it???? If not, what is the problem?

The most likely explanation for this usually is that your online email account has been compromised, rather than your computer having been infected. If it is possible that an online address book could be the source of the contacts that are receiving the messages, then you need to change your password and clean up some other loose ends.
