My laptop is only about 3 weeks old, and the first thing I did when I got it was install Norton. Smooth sailing till today. About 3 hours ago, I was having trouble viewing a variety of pages. I kept getting redirected to a Yahoo search page regardless of what page I was trying to view, with an error message saying the page could not be found (even Facebook, Yahoo, and Google). I thought it was some weird fluke because it stopped once I closed the window and opened a new one.
Right after, though, I noticed that all webpages I go have a green, double underlined hyperlink on certain key words (even including Norton). The hyperlinks direct you to all different pages, but they all start with "www.textsrv.com/click.php." I've looked through my control panel and there are no new programs installed. I've run a full system scan from Norton AND the Power Eraser, but Norton says no threats are detected.
I have noticed that when I uninstall Flash, the hyperlinks disappear, but as soon as I re-install Flash, they're back (and I need Flash in order to work). I've looked everywhere for an answer related to "textsrv virus" and have only found a couple mentions on the web from the last couple weeks which makes me think this is new.
I haven't downloaded any new programs, visited any unknown sites, and clicked on any weird links. I've also noticed that it's only on Firefox (which I used all the time), not Internet Explorer. Can someone please help?

Welcome,
Sorry you are having a problem. It sounds more like malware than a virus. [The differences can be discussed at another time] Since neither of your scans found the problem you might want to download the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool and select the rootkit option and reboot. The other possibility is the free version of Malwarebytes scanner. It's Norton compatible so no worry there.
Hope this helps
Oh my gosh....Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I wish I could send you some brownies and cookies to say thanks. The Malwarebytes program took it off. Thank you so much, and I hope you have a wonderful week!
