if i disable the antiviris auto-protect i can get the game to run smoothly, but that just means i have to remember to turn it back on when im done I also just leared that the R11 servers were an emergancy patch but they have very unstable connectivity. Thanks for the help.
Hello pandabear
If the servers are unstable, then you will have lag. It's a new game, so they have to work out the kinks in it yet.
Try to add your Battlefield game folder to the AutoProtect Scan Exclusion list. Here are the steps for latest version of Norton 360:
1. Start your Norton product.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click AntiVirus.
4. Click Scans and Risks tab.
5. Click Under Exclusions, next to Scan Exclusions, click Configure.
6. Under Scan Exclusions, click Add.
7. Browse and select Battlefield game folder and click OK. Make sure that you check the option to exclude Subfolders also.
8. Under Auto-Protect Exclusions, click Add.
9. Browse and select the Battlefield game folder and click OK. Make sure that you check the option to exclude Subfolders also.
10. Click Apply > OK.
Restart the computer and try to play the game. Let us know the results.

I had to send my computer for repairs and when I got it back Windows had been reinstalled. I have paid for Norton protection up to next July. I don't know my subscription key and as far as I remember I don't think I ever used a Norton Account. So how can I get my protection up and running without having to pay again? I live in the UK if that's relevant...
