Hi all,
Been reading these posts for an hour hoping to avoid upgrade mistakes from NIS 2008 to NIS 2009.
Want to do a clean uninstall of 2008 then install NIS 2009 - however somewhere in the near past (page 4, I think) Phil_D says how to perform this feat, then provides a link to the "NIS 2009 package" and says to download and save it to your desktop.
This link is the same one that I was provided via my LiveUpdate Notice but it is also said that this link is really only a "stub" to the real program and that it does not provide the option to simply download the NIS 2009 program to your desktop. Furthermore, someone says that it automatically executes, not allowing one to manually remove NIS 2008 and LiveUpdate at their selected timing.
So, is there somewhere to simply download the actual NIS 2009 program, save it, then unplug my computer, uninstall NIS 2008, reboot, uninstall LiveUpdate, reboot, execute the NIS 2009 installation, then re-plug back into the internet ?? Or can the stub download be stopped at some point to simply download the NIS 2009 program to my computer without it automatically executing ??
Thanks
PS: I have not personally clicked on the Download link at this point, fearing that it may automatically start the upgrade process.
