Plugin Nortin Confidential stops responding

Every since my computers (all three of them) were upgraded to version 2012 of Norton Internet Security, I am having problem with the plugin 'Norton Confidential'.

 

After around 20% of my startups I get a pop-up window stating that the plugin software Norton Confidential doesn't respond and asks me if I would like to stop it.

 

I get the same respons from Outlook 2007, Google Chrome and IE9. All my programs are at the latest versions.

 

A restart is necessary in order to get it to work.

 

When I searched the Internet I found that many users had the same problem, but Norton blamed the problem on Google Chrome. This cannot be correct as Outlook and IE9 also have the same problem.

 

If the problem is not rectified I find myself in a position that I have to change to another product from another supplier.

 

Is there a fix planned? Is it popssible to revert to version 2011?
