I was very excited after trying the new and much faster NIS 2009 after years of poor performing system hogs of the past only to be let down by the poor detection of trojans/malware/adware etc during a scan.
The computer I was repairing for a customer (XP Home) was infected with several things after booting it up (which took a good amount of time).
I removed the hard drive and installed it in a vista machine that had the NIS 2009 on it and scanned the infected drive only.
NIS found 4 infections which I thought was not very many.
I then rebooted the system and booted to the second installation of Vista on the same computer which had Kaspersy IS 2009 on it and ran a scan on the same infected drive only.
The KIS 2009 found another 20 instances of adware /malware and a trojan that the NIS 2009 never did!
I had great hope for the NIS 2009 as it was light with little or no resource usage but the detection rates were pretty dismal!
Any input on this would be appreciated.
