Advice please- last night when surfing through Google my computer flashed up two screens unconnected with my search which I deleted so quickly that I didn't register what they said. Immediately I received a Norton advice of a High Risk attempt to infiltrate a fake virus programme which it said it had blocked. However just prior to this I had run a full system scan which had checked my usual 280,000 files etc. I then ran a full system scan again which then showed only 136,000 files checked - ran scan again this am with same result, Is it possible that the fake virus has partially infected my computer before Norton could stop it and that is why Norton cannot check all files? Help please as my PC man wasn't very helpful and just said if Norton says PC is Ok then it should be! If so why is only half my computer being scanned?
thanks in anticipation - Lorraine
