Possible IMAP issues with Norton 360 and Outlook 2003

I'm not 100% sure but I suspect that Norton 360 is causing my intermittent email server time outs when using IMAP SSL with my web hosted email accounts.

I have just placed both smartfirewall rules allowing traffic thru both directions to hosting email server and incoming IMAP port 993 and for good measure outgoing SMTP port 465.

I also setup in Settings, My Network, Network Security Map, Trust Controls and applied Full Trust to the email server ip address (I have no idea if this was necessary).

Looks like it's working now but I was getting intermittent mail server time outs anyway so only time will tell.

The reason I did this is because I noticed everything started working good for my IMAP emails when I temporarily disabled smart firewall and antivirus autoprotect.

Again I'm not sure Norton 360 is really causing this issue or not....just want to see if anyone has some insight to my Outlook 2003 IMAP email issue possibly?
