I've been attempting to install WinXP Pro (32bit), on a new hard drive, in a PC which already runs Vista64. I've done this several times on other computers without a hitch. However, this is the first time doing so while running a Norton product and, this time, I have a big hitch. It has been suggested in other forums and web help pages that it's at least possible that Norton *might* be preventing the Vista boot loader from properly modifying the necessary boot record(s). This, in turn, could be causing the improper functioning of the boot menu to allow selection of the desired OS. Before I pursue this any further, does anyone know if this actually is something that might be a normal function of Norton 360 or Norton ISS '09? If not, it will allow me to eliminate at least one potential problem.
Thanks for any info.
