As of the August 2025 Patch Tuesday PowerShell 2.0 has been removed. The current version I have on my Windows 10 Pro machines is version 5.1. Version 7.xx will install and run on the same system alongside 5.0 per the article below from Microsoft. Its also available for Mac users and several Linux distros. Supports Visual Studio code as well Please note: Each PS version requires a different version of .NET so make sure you read the entire article before doing anything.
